Rich Moisturizer for Maturing Skin
For the last few months, I’ve been focusing on taking better care of my skin after decades of neglect. I’m 52 and have maturing skin that’s beginning to develop some fine lines and is prone to being dry. I’ve tried a few other Lancome products and been happy with the results. I ordered this “Absolue Longevity MD Intercept Face Cream For Mid-Age, Anti-Aging Facial Moisturizer with Mitopure” because it’s specifically designed for maturing skin.When the cream arrived, I couldn’t find a manufacturing or expiration date on either the box or jar. Both were marked with what appears to be a lot number and labeled as made in France. The jar feels like glass and includes an additional inner cover under the lid. I’ve tried a few other luxury products and the one tiny nit-picky thing I wish this cream included is one of the small spatulas for retrieving the cream from the jar. Once I started using them I wondered why I hadn’t thought of it sooner. They’re easy to wipe with an alcohol pad and I feel like that helps prevent the introduction of contaminants. I already have some on hand, but including one would make the experience feel a little more luxurious.I’m fragrance sensitive and already familiar with the scent profile Lancome tends to use in their skincare products. “Fragrance” is listed as one of the ingredients, which is always a wildcard for me because it doesn’t really explain the scent profile. This definitely leans heavily floral, which isn’t usually my favorite type of fragrance, and the intensity is close to the upper limit of what I comfortably tolerate. It lingers longer than many skincare products I’ve used, although eventually I stop noticing it. Fragrance is so personal that someone else may absolutely adore both the scent profile and the fact that it lingers a bit. Personally, I wish Lancome offered an unscented skincare line.This is a light but luxurious feeling cream. It has enough body to glide smoothly and massage in easily. The instructions say to use it twice a day, which fits perfectly into my skincare routine. The cream absorbs quickly without leaving behind any sticky or greasy residue and I haven’t noticed any pilling. Once absorbed, my skin feels soft and nicely moisturized. I don’t wear makeup so I can’t speak to how it layers under cosmetics. My skin hasn’t felt dry and I haven’t experienced any redness or irritation since I started using it. I’ve been pairing it with Lancome’s Intercept Serum and may already be noticing some improvement in the fine lines around my eyes. I’m also hoping to see some improvement in my smile lines with longer use.So far, I’ve been using the cream for about two weeks and have been really happy with the results. I think this is the sort of product where the more dramatic improvements likely come with sustained use over time. At the time of my order, 50mL costs $155 which definitely places this in the premium luxury skincare category. If it’s comfortably within your budget, I think this is a very high quality cream.

I’m giving this product 5 stars, and I will tell you why!! I will have to disclose that I am a fan of Lancome skincare and makeup and use their products daily. But the one thing I never have purchased before is a cream for night time. I but their eye cream that I use day and night, but never a night cream, and that is because of the price. For this review, I received the refill version of the Absolue Longevity face cream. I do love the fact that you can purchase refills of a lot of products rather than buying and throwing away the container every time. I buy my rescue night cream from another luxury manufacturer and while I really love the moisturizing aspects, it is a little greasy and thick. This Lancome product is the exact opposite, it goes on easily, and it doesn’t make your skin greasy. I havent’ tried it out for daytime, I have to have a day cream with some sunscreen in it and this product doesn’t have sunscreen that I am aware of. If I got that wrong, I apologize in advance.The cream itself feels so very rich. It’s almost like a whip, but never greasy. I’ve been using the product for at least four weeks, so I feel I’ve had adequate time to really get a feel for its attributes. This is a cream whose target demographic is women or men, 33-55 years of age. Unfortunately, I’m a little older than that, but I do have a few wrinkles, so I’m well within its target audience for that. I think the one thing this really reduces, from the description, is forehead wrinkles, of which I have none. Don’t ask me why, I’m definitely old enough to collect Social Security, but I don’t have forehead wrinkles. So I judged it for its ability to reduce those nasty little wrinkles above my upper lip. I really hate those things!! This cream actually does reduce the appearance of those pesky little things, and I haven’t had any botox or anything else. I only use the cream at night, and in the morning, I feel like overnight I was really moisturized from this Lancome cream. The ingredient that this cream has that helps with hydration, pore reduction, and dark spot reduction is Niacinamide. I feel that my pore size has been reduced, but I still have a few dark spots that I haven’t seen any reduction in. There are other ingredients to help with moisturizing like shea butter, and of course Damascus rose flower water.The star ingredient in this cream is patented ingredient, Mitopure. Mitopure is a patented form of urolithin A to improve visible signs of aging. Urolithin A is compound that supports cellular health by clearing out damaged mitochondria. I think it really works. Now, it didn’t remove my nasolabial folds, but I’m older and I don’t think that anything other than plastic surgery is going to rid me of those. But, I was very pleased that my pores appeared smaller and the wrinkles above my lip look less prominent. I’m sure it is due to this cream as I haven’t used my other night cream at all for weeks. One thing I did find out about this cream is it doesn’t like other serums under it. I don’t have any Lancome serums like Génifique, but I did use an inexpensive brand of hyaluronic acid, and the cream sort of slid off of the areas with that serum on it. So, I stopped using that and didn’t apply any other serums under it at all.So, in my opinion, this cream really did reduce the appearance of the lines above my upper lip that I really hate. I was very happy about that. My skin feels moisturized up to 24 hours after application. The one thing I didn’t particularly like is the price, but the price is about what other luxury brand creams cost, so I really can’t complain. It is a splurge to buy, but if I was 33-55 years old, I WOULD buy this. What I am going to do is buy some of the Reset cream that is targeted to my age group. In reading more of the description, the Intercept cream, which is the one being reviewed, is supposed to reduce nasolabial folds up to 57% with 12 weeks of use. So I have a few more weeks of use to see some improvement!! I’m sure you will see some improvement with use, you just have to get over the price. The one good thing is that the price is now lower than the price it was in April which was $165 according to the 3 month price history.

My horror movie is when an expensive cream actually works
I’m aware that you’re aware that I got this product because of the Vine program, so I won’t pretend otherwise. It really is a beautiful thing when I get something I could only afford if I didn’t need to be part of the Vine program to get it. You follow? But since here I am, a lowly peasant as it were, I have only a refill has been bestowed upon me, jar not included. If you think I could afford to just get the container anyway, you either *didn’t* follow, or are unaware of the time requirements of the Vine program. In either case, I’m moving on with or without you…This refill is so much more than the most expensive refill of anything I’ve ever been allowed to touch. It totally slaps even without a lid. Though if you are considering purchasing this refill you more than likely have already shelled out the extra $20 for the jar, I’m still going to share my experience of using this without it.The packaging comes with the same plastic inner lid most high-end moisturizers use on their jars, and since I’m nothing if not crafty, I use it as a lid and store the container upside down so it’ll be somewhat airtight (if I’m not crafty and this was done on purpose don’t tell me). I’ll be honest, It’s not the most glamorous look sitting out on my counter, but with the 2 serums from the Absolue Longevity line sitting next to it that I also managed to snag, it looks totally rich. I mean… just fine. No need to spend the extra $20 for the jar in this household! And that’s my version of sticking it to the man (I’m quite the rebel)The scent of luxury is clearly tuberose, as it’s how this moisturizer is fragranced and is the same light floral smell I’ve come to expect from the Absolue line ). I realize I said “expect” like someone who casually cycles through $200 skincare, but I actually have no business expecting anything from Lancôme in my tax bracket. Still, the smell is faintly nostalgic. It reminds me of stepping off a plane in Hawaii, which I have done, at least once.For anyone sensitive to fragrance, this one is subtle enough that I think it’d be worth trying anyway. For me personally, a scent formulated this well makes the whole routine feel like a ritual I earned. You can be the judge of whether I did or not.The texture is thick but airy, almost whipped. It glides over everything else I’ve applied first (yes I’m referring to the 3 other Lancôme Absolue products I use now, because I’m just that fancy) without pilling, absorbs quickly without any greasiness, and hasn’t caused any irritation. Quite the contrary.After a little over a month of nightly use with those 2 other Absolue Longevity serums I won’t shut up about, I regret to inform you that my skin has never looked better. Unfortunately sometimes the real world bites you in the behind and you learn that money does buy happiness. I mean, I went in hoping it would work. What I wasn’t prepared for was how conspicuously it would work.Now here’s the science, because I had to figure out how it was possible for my skin to transform so quickly. The Mitopure in this formula is a form of Urolithin A. I also have no idea exactly what that is, but apparently it causes a mitochondrial renewal process, which i guess explains why I’ve been shocked by my own reflection in the mirror, and not because I found another wrinkle. Now they’re disappearing!!! I don’t fully understand the magic or science, of which I’m convinced are one and the same, but I understand what my skin looks like, and those 2 things appear to be connected.My skin looks literally velvety, and that’s the word I keep coming back to. The texture of my skin is smoother and more even than it’s been in years. I swear to you I’m telling the truth when I say this: I have never had any product work so quickly and so drastically, and I have boxes of skincare products at this point.Needless to say, this is an exceptional face cream, and I’m going to need to find a real job when this runs out or there will be problems. I’d recommend it to anyone who bothered to read this far (you deserve all the good things for sitting through this), and also people with aging skin who have a trust fund.

Makes My Skin Look Better, But It’s a Splurge
I had pretty high expectations for this, mostly because of the price, and I’ll be honest… I really like this face cream.The texture is rich, but not heavy. It’s thick and creamy at first, but it spreads easily and melts into the skin really nicely. A little goes a long way, which I do appreciate at this price point. It doesn’t feel greasy once it’s on, but it does take a bit to fully absorb. Right after applying, it can feel slightly tacky, but that goes away once it settles.Once it’s on, my skin feels really smooth, hydrated, and noticeably more plump. It gives a healthy glow without looking oily, and it layers really well under makeup. I’ve actually noticed my makeup sits a little smoother when I use this. My skin just looks more even and well-rested overall.I’ve been using this for a little over two weeks, and I do feel like my skin just looks better overall. It feels softer, more hydrated, and a little more balanced. I wouldn’t say it’s completely transformed my skin or erased fine lines just yet, but it definitely keeps my skin looking its best. It’s even given me the confidence to leave the house without makeup.One thing to note is that this is fragranced. It has that typical “luxury skincare” floral scent. I personally enjoy it, but if you’re sensitive to fragrance, it’s something to consider.I could also see this being a little too rich for some skin types. If you’re more oily or prone to congestion, this might feel like a lot, especially if you’re using it twice a day. I have normal to dry skin, though, and my skin really likes this.The packaging is also really nice. The jar feels heavy and expensive, and it’s refillable, which I do appreciate at this price point.The biggest downside for me is the price. It’s expensive, and while I do really enjoy using it and love the way my skin looks with it, I don’t know that it’s something everyone needs. It feels more like a luxury upgrade than a necessity… just a really nice one to have.Overall, I do love this. It’s one of those products that just makes your skin look consistently good. I just wish it wasn’t quite so expensive.

Very Sticky But Smells Nice Too Early To Tell If It Will Reduce Age Lines
If you know anything about aging, then you know that the first visible signs of age is in your hands. That’s part of the reason I am showing my hand in the photo because I’m almost 58 and I am the target audience for this product.I have never used a Lancôme product prior to this, because I don’t have $155 to drop on facial cream. I’m not made of money and I can buy a lot of groceries for the cost of this product, so in full transparency, I will never be a customer for that reason alone.Now, with that said, I have to say that the fragrance is very calming and nice. It’s not overpowering and it’s very pleasant. I like that. The cream itself is very buttery and smooth. You can see it almost looks like a whipped butter.But, I find it very sticky. I used it on my face and it felt like I was wearing a sticky mask and it took what felt like hours for it to fully absorb in my skin, even after following the instructions. I did it on my hands also, and the sticky feeling remains. I am not a fan of this.The idea behind this product is that it uses mitopure, which was 15 years in the making and it’s supposed to intercept aging. I happen to have very few wrinkles and lines in the first place, due to genetics, so it’s hard for me to really judge if this is and/or will show any visible signs of intercepting my aging. Again, on my hands, maybe, but not my face.Another idea behind this is that the main ingredients in the cream are used to replace you having to take vitamins to get the same effect. Again, hard to determine the validity of this based on only a few uses of it.I do like that Lancôme is conscious of waste and they say directly on the packaging that they put this is a glass bottle so that you can reuse the bottle. That’s great and it’s a nice bottle.If I was super vain, and I had money to waste, I may try this again after I’m done with this bottle. Not sure. I can’t in good conscience give this 5 stars because I haven’t used the whole bottle and so I can’t determine if it will or will not make me look younger, but the product is nice, but too sticky. I’m giving this 4 stars for the cost being ridiculous and also for it being sticky.

A new cream with an emphasis on niacinamide.
I was so excited to order the new Lancome Absolue Longevity MD Intercept Face Cream as it is meant for the people in my age range-from 35 to 55. Unfortunately, I did not see the ingredients until it arrived. I am allergic to niacinamide and I would break out in hives if I put it on. I don’t recall niacinamide being used in any Lancome products when I worked there, but it has become a very popular ingredient recently. Which is disappointing for me. But I would not give less than five stars for my mistake. The refill obviously has the same ingredients and I cannot use it either.

Rich, creamy but soaks into skin well
Very rich and smooth cream.It doesn’t make your face feel greases or caked on once applied.It is not going to work after 1 night and requires a habit of putting it on daily.It doesnt really have a scent which I liked, and didn’t leave my face feeling greasy.Its a thick but silky cream that spreads easily and is easily absorbed into the skin.I did start to notice my crows feet lines looked less after using it for close to 2 weeks, which was 1 of my issues i had hoped to minimize.
